Xiaomi’s rumoured Mi Max 2 with huge 6.44-inch display and newly introduced Snapdragon 660 processor might arrive on May 23. Although the Mi Max 2 is said to have the same 6.44-inch 1080p screen as the original Mi Max, it would see a significant overhaul in almost all the other departments.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 with its specs details said to include a 12MP Sony IMX378 sensor but with a larger aperture in order to get better camera effect. On the other hand, the front selfie shooter will have a 5MP sensor. 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The leak about the Xiaomi Mi Max was shared by Weibo and first spotted by Android Pure, and it reveals some of the features of the device before the launch announcement. The smartphone is further expected to house a massive 5000mAh battery with support for fast charge. On the software front, it will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS right out of the box. Some are presuming that the device can even feature Xiaomi’s very own MIUI 9. However, chances of that happening are quite slim.
As far as the pricing is concerned, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is rumored to cost somewhere between 1499 Yuan and 1699 Yuan (approx. Rs. 15,700), but not exceed the 1,999 Yuan (around Rs 20,000). The Snapdragon 660 will reportedly go into mass production in second quarter of 2017 and is expected to power phones from Oppo and Vivo.
